     What would you do to develop stories from the following information?

  1. The mayor is reported to have decided to run for governor but will not say anything himself.
  2. A union is thinking of organizing the university work force: groundskeepers, librarians, secretaries, cleaning personnel.
  3. An unexpected increase in strep throat has struck the city.
  4. A national organization is quietly buying up property outside the city limits for construction of a large industrial park.
  5. You hear through the police grapevine that soon a new police chief may be appointed and the current chief fired.
