About the Author

Edward Forrest is Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska (Anchorage, United States), having joined the faculty in August of 2000. He received his PhD degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. From 1977 to 1987 he directed the Advertising curriculum in the College of Communication at Florida State University. During his directorship, Florida State won nine national advertising competitions sponsored by such companies as Philip Morris, Datsun and MacCaffrey-McCall.

In 1989, he developed and directed one of the country's first graduate degree curriculums in Interactive Communication at Florida State University. In 1996, he moved to Griffith University (Queensland, Australia) where he introduced that country's first courses in Interactive Marketing and Internet Marketing Research. He was also appointed Head of the School of Marketing and made a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.

He has authored numerous papers and articles on interactive communication and Internet marketing that have appeared in The Journal of Advertising Research, Journal Of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Human Communication Research, Cornell Quarterly, Asia-Australia Marketing Journal and The New York Times-CyberTimes. In addition, he has authored and edited a CD-ROM entitled Marketing: Your Desktop Companion, as well as a number of books including Interactive Marketing: The Future Present, Cybermarketing: Your Interactive Consultant, Internet Marketing Research: Resources and Techniques and The New York Times: Guide to Marketing.
