In Officer Jordan's opinion, the biggest crime threat in his community lies in traffic violations like drunk driving and other actions that directly affect him, his family, and his friends. In his view, "someone sitting at home smoking dope" doesn't affect him or his loved ones, so he doesn't prioritize these crimes. Do you agree with him? If his view has merit, then why are so many criminal justice policies "drug-driven" in so many respects? Are time, money, and other resources squandered on law enforcement solutions for what can be more accurately described as a social and medical problem? Or is Officer Jordan misguided and in the minority in his opinion? Does drug use deserve, in fact, even more attention from law enforcement officials?
