Human Physiology, 7/e
Stuart I Fox, Pierce College

Overview

Human Physiology by Fox is intended for the one-semester Human Physiology course which often follows a human anatomy course in the curriculum. The course is often taken freshman/sophomore year by allied health and other biology students. The course is primarily taught in the spring semester, but it is offered in the summer and fall at many institutions. The course is offered at both two- and four-year schools.

The beginning chapters introduce basic chemical and biological concepts to provide these students--many of whom do not have extensive science backgrounds--with the framework they need to comprehend physiological principles. In the chapters that follow, the material is presented in such a way as to promote conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization of facts. Every effort has been made to help students integrate related concepts and to understand the relationships between anatomical structures and their functions
