1. Flip

Heather Schenk, 20, who lives in South Glensfalls, N.Y., was driving a rental car on Route 9 in Latham, N.Y., when she lost control of the car. It left the highway and turned over.

2. Trample

Two ponies at the Elburn Days Parade were spooked and ran into the crowd lining the sidewalk. The driver tried to pull up his team but was unable to do so before it injured five people, none of them seriously. One of the injured, Robert Forrest, 7, of Elburn, managed to hold on to the tongue of the wagon when the horses reached him, and he hung on until the team was quieted.

3. Blaze

Firefighters have just arrived at the Precious Faith Temple in Lake Worth, Texas, at 10:44 a.m. The fire started in a small shed behind the church and had spread to the main building when the firefighters arrived. At about 11:05 a.m., the roof collapsed, trapping three of the firemen inside. Two bodies were later found in a classroom and the third in a sanctuary. Four firefighters barely escaped, one by leaping off the burning roof, three by hanging from rafters until they were rescued.
