Does the study show that what Gannett recommends in the area of writing—shorter, snappier stories—leads to an informed community? That is, do people want their newspaper primarily to entertain them? Or do they recognize that the newspaper has a dual function that includes explaining complex matters so that they, the public, can make informed decisions on important matters? |
