Student CD-Rom
With each new book, students receive a free CD-Rom containing what used to be the Exam Prep Disk, which has been updated to reflect the changes in the 8th edition. Students can use these chapter-specific test questions to prepare for exams or to review the content they have learned in each chapter. The CD also includes the complete PowerPoint presentation, and video clips that reference specific pages or sections in the text. A new 'game' is also included that lets students pick from crossword puzzles, word scrambles, and other word games to test their knowledge of the key terms within the text.

Computerized Testing for Windows (007-245412-1)
A Windows computerized version of the test bank allows the instructor to generate random tests and to add his or her own questions.

PowerPoint Presentation (available on Instructor CD-ROM and the text Website (ISBN: 007-245410-5)
Our thanks go out to Andrew Yap of Florida International University for authoring the PowerPoint Presentation slide. Each chapter contains 15-20 slides for use in the classroom or as handouts and are packaged ready-to-run with Windows installation program and a slide viewer. No additional software is required, but can be modified with Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows. The PowerPoint presentation also resides on the Instructor's CD-Rom, or downloadable from the Online Learning Center.

Instructor's Presentation CD-Rom (ISBN: 0-07248469-1)
This is state-of-the-art technology that provides a single resource for faculty to customize in-class presentations. This CD-ROM contains:

  1. Instructor's Resource Manual
  2. Test Bank
  3. PowerPoint Classroom Presentation Software
  4. Video Clips
  5. Special Presentation Platform that allows faculty to build classroom presentations in sequence using the resources from the CD.

Videos (ISBN: 007-245411-3)
We realize that time is a scarce resource for instructors, so this video program provides a carefully selected set of videos to accompany this text. The series includes videos mostly from NBC archives that focus on international business challenges, processes, and experiences. A video case highlighting each video and asking discussion questions is included with the Instructor's Manual.

Instructor Online Learning Center
A resource for faculty and students, our website contains information for lecture and learning enhancement. Along with a sample chapter, features of the text, and author biographical information, our website contains downloadable supplements for your convenience, sample syllabi from the authors and your peers, links to articles with synopses and relevant discussion questions, links to national and international news (under Student Resources), and a bulletin board for you to ask questions and share teaching ideas with other professor teaching the Introduction to Business course.

CESims International Business Simulation
Included with each new book are passwords to a new online simulation developed by CESims. This simulation has been exclusively developed for use with the 8th edition of this text.

Included are:
  1. 3 market areas (N America, Europe, Asia, and players can choose which ones to market to)
  2. 4 technologies (current, new emerging, and potential future technologies to invest in), a range of features that could be offered (impacting product differentiation)
  3. choice of production sites (within Asia or in NA)
  4. pricing options
  5. exposure to exchange rate fluctuations

This is quite a robust simulation, lots of fun, and more importantly a great learning tool. It can be used with 3 to 12 teams (so 6 to 50 students per simulation) -- and can involve teams from more than one class or university if the instructor wishes. It is resident on the web, and there is essentially no instructor management required (other than selecting a few variables regarding number of teams, length of time to run the simulation in terms of quarters, etc.).

Please ask your Irwin/McGraw-Hill Sales Representative how you can receive passwords for your students with the text if you have not already purchased access with a new book.

Student Online Learning Center
The Student section of the Website houses many interactive resources including online quizzes, internet exercises, links to Business Week, a Career Corner, and Updates to the Text. Along with these assets we introduce the new e-Learning Session for the Ball et al web site. A "roadmap" for studying, the e-Learning Session is an outline of the text with interactive links to PowerPoint slides, video clips, and instant quizzing to further the enhancement of the learning process for the student. The web content is authored by Chula King of the University of West Florida.

PowerWeb
With the 8th edition, professors and students get free access to the International Business PowerWeb. This is an online supplement unlike any you have experienced before. It includes:

  1. Easy-to-use instructor assessment for effective supplemental content.
  2. Self-assessment areas for students to use to check their own comprehension.
  3. Current and relevant articles from leading periodicals and journals for students to use in researching assigned projects.
  4. Periodic posting of the most recent and dynamic articles along with relevant quizzing and assessment tools. New material that can be brought into class for discussion.
  5. The highest quality peer-reviewed and refereed content. The content is vetted to uncover relevant course issues versus random Web-search results.
  6. Optional research and study still tools.

PowerWeb for International Business is accessible through this Online Learning Center.
