1. Is it more important to be internally motivated or externally motivated?
An aspect of internal motivation that is especially important in achievement is recognizing the contribution of effort. Many psychologists recommend internal motivation over external motivation, although some studies have shown that the most successful individuals are both internally motivated to reach a high standard and externally motivated to do better than others.

2. Are people's sexual urges controlled by their hormones?
Hormones do play a role in sexual urges but more strongly in animals than humans. Thinking and socioemotional experiences influence human sexual motivation so humans are not entirely controlled by their hormones.

3. Are females more emotional than males?
This question addresses the master stereotype about gender and emotion: she is emotional, he is not. For most emotional experiences, researchers do not find gender differences-both sexes are equally likely to experience love, jealousy, and anxiety in new social situations, angry when they are insulted, and so on. However, the context in which emotion is expressed matters when gender is explored. For example, men are more likely to show anger toward strangers, especially other men, when they are challenged than women are.
