The future is only a day away. And that means a lot with respect to computers. Technology will change so rapidly that some people may get left behind. Let’s see what some experts are predicting in the very near future.

• 100,000,000+ - number of cell phones expected to be sold in 2002.
• 273,000,000 — number of estimated Internet appliances worldwide in 2004.
• $1,500 — projected cost of an Internet-enabled toilet, currently being developed by Matsushita.
• 2002 — the year in which gadgets such as cell phones, game systems, and personal digital assistants will begin to outsell computers.
• 1,000,000 — the number of titles an e-book will hold by 2003.
• _________________ — number of Americans that will have wireless access to the Web in 2003.

By 2003, it's estimated that over 25,000,000 people in the U.S. will have wireless access to the Web.

We actually believe the number will be much higher. Almost all new PDAs today come with wireless Web access. And cell phones seem to be moving in the direction of providing free wireless Web access (of course, you’ll be using your minutes).
