     Some cars are safer than others. Find out which are prone to rollovers, which have the most deaths and injuries in accidents. The Institute for Highway Safety keeps figures and in past releases has reported the death rate for the smallest cars on the market was double the rate of standard-sized cars, 3 deaths per 10,000 registered cars for the smallest, 1.3 for the larger models. Consumer magazines have reported safety problems with SUVs.
     Bring these figures up to date. Interview local people about their car purchases. What makes people buy cars that are unsafe?
     Write a feature for the Sunday magazine of The Freeport News or a documentary for the local TV station.
