Review:When authors use propaganda techniques, they try to appeal to readers’ emotions rather than their intellect. In other words, they try to get the to accept their argument on the basis of emotion rather than reason. Propaganda techniques include appeals to fear, vanity or status, sense of pity or compassion, guilt, greed, anger, and so forth. When you read, ask yourself, "Is the author trying to manipulate me by appealing to emotion rather than reason?"
