RESOURCES FOR LECTURERS Lecturer Manual No Lecturer Manual (LM) is intended to supplant the creativity and perspectives on learning which each professor brings to his or her class. However, instructors often find the LM a helpful guide in planning class sessions. The LM for this edition of the text was written by the authors themselves, based on their combined 60-plus years of teaching this material in diverse learning environments. For preparing the course syllabus the Lecturer Manual provides alternative suggestions for management and/or OB focused courses. The LM also suggests shortcuts in making decisions - for example, about which cases or exercises to assign - and how to sequence chapter assignments. To offer teaching suggestions the LM provides the following elements for each chapter:
- Chapter overview
- Key terms from the text with definitions
- Learning outcomes
- Answers to study and discussion questions
- Synopsis of the experiential exercises and debriefing questions/answers
- Synopsis of the case and perspective answers to questions
- A summary of each boxed item
- A teaching note for each line-drawing exhibit
- Supplemental handouts – an exercise, case, example, or self-assessment instrument
PowerPoint slides Supplemental exhibits and teaching points (as well as visuals for the exhibit drawings that appear in the text) are available as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Some review each chapter’s key points, some include a self-quiz or chapter quiz to use as a review, and others summarise key points likely to be taught as a mini lecture. Overall, the combination gives lecturers considerable choice in drawing upon resources beyond those they have personally created for the classroom. SUPPLEMENTS FOR STUDENTS Online Learning Centre This Online Learning Centre accompanies the first European edition of the text. This is an added resource for professors and students alike.
