Pronoun Errors

Definition: A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun or a noun phrase (called the pronoun's antecedent.) Common types of errors with pronouns are:

  1. Lack of agreement between the pronoun and antecedent.
  2. Inappropriate shifts in person.
  3. Incorrect pronoun form.
  4. Ambiguous or unclear pronoun reference.
