Subject-Verb Agreement

Definition: Subjects and their verbs always need to agree in number-singular or plural. No matter where the subject appears in the sentence, the subject always determines whether the verb will be singular or plural. When the subject and verb do not agree in number, an error in subject-verb agreement occurs.

Directions: From the lettered choices following each numbered exercise, identify the revision that corrects the subject-verb agreement error.
